Domestic violence, or intimate partner violence, isn’t just physical abuse. It is any pattern of behavior used to maintain power and control over the other partner in a relationship and it is not OK. If you feel trapped in a relationship, please know you are not alone. Domestic violence affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men and does not discriminate based on gender, sexuality, religion, education or economic status. There is help available.
If you are ever in immediate danger, always dial 9-1-1.
