October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Here are some common signs of domestic abuse from the National Domestic Violence Hotline
Ending a marriage, especially a long one can be a complicated matter. For some couples, it may not be necessary to rush into a divorce or to get a divorce at all. However, a legal separation may still a good idea.
Domestic violence, or intimate partner violence, isn’t just physical abuse. It is any pattern of behavior used to maintain power and control over the other partner in a relationship and it is not OK. If you feel trapped in a relationship, please know you are not alone. Domestic violence affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men and does not discriminate based on gender, sexuality, religion, education or economic status.
